Follow the following steps to set up the Xiippy in-taxi POS and meter

  • Log into the meter with a user that has corporate "POS Admin" rights
  • With the Bluetooth controller board, make sure you pair it to Android first (under Android Settings> Bluetooth). The default pin is either 1234 or 0000. Then go to Settings in the meter and let it find it and pair it.
  • The printer, TSS card reader, and the optional speed sensor are generally discovered and paired by the Xiippy meter the same way without having to do anything beforehand. You just need to turn the device on, go to the relevant menu in the Xiippy meter under Settings and let it find them and then save pairings.
  • For the payment terminal:
  • Choose if you want to set up payments in test mode (and select test Mode under settings)
  • 'Register POS' under Settings which will get you to "choose a site" in step 1. We have a range of test or production sites created already. In step 2 and 3, let it generate keys and save them.
  • After registration, go to Xiippy - Business Owner's Portal - POS Machines and activate the recent registration.
If it's registered in Test mode, make sure you do select the test Mode in the dashboard too (under 'Settings' tab at the left side of the screen as follows) to list the test mode registrations to activate.
  • Next, find the recent registration (by date or by POS machine id). Tap and activate.
  • Next, under Settings on the meter, Clear Authentication Tokens (to just quicken the next step, otherwise, not needed)
  • Next, under settings on the meter, find and pair the payment terminal
    • For new Internet-based terminals:
      • Charge and connect the terminal to the internet
      • Follow the prompts to generate a 3-word registration code
      • Go to to meter> Settings> Payment Card Reader Terminal Settings> Set the scan type to Internet (default is Bluetooth) > Discover Readers > a pop-up shows up> enter the 3-word registration code> Done
      • Try a transaction
  • Log out and exist the meter by closing the meter app.
  • Log back in.
